STUDY PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:

When applying for a Canadian study permit, you must examine two sets of requirements: qualifying requirements and requirements while studying in Canada.

1. To be eligible to apply for a study permit, you must meet the following requirements

        • ACCEPTANCE LETTER: You must have an acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in order to apply for a Canadian study permit.
        • FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROOF: You must produce proof demonstrating that you have sufficient finances to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses for yourself and any accompanying family members during your first year of study.
        • SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATIONS: You must provide supporting documentation along with all study permit applications. These documentations vary from country to country.
        • Be a law-abiding resident and have no criminal record.
        • Be in good health.
        • Officer’s satisfaction that you will leave Canada once your study permit expires.

2. While studying in Canada, as a foreign national you must meet the following requirements to maintain the validity of your permit:

        • Make progress towards completing your program.
        • Respect any conditions listed on your study permit and stop studying if you no longer meet the requirements 
        • Leave Canada when the study permit expires
